Week 2

30th April - Mobile Alabama to Jacksonville Florida - 404 Miles

We arrived in Jacksonville late afternoon after losing yet another hour....these darn time changes,,,lol. Stayed on the river front in nice hotel. The riverwalk was nice in the night light.

1st/2nd May - Jacksonville to Hollywood Florida - 332 Miles

We made it as far as Palm Beach, stayed at the Hilton right on the beach front. After getting bags to room, headed straight for the surf. The water was like a bath, my 1st swim in the Atlantic Ocean. We set off today to Hollywood to meet up with barbticky, she has a few things organised for us.

Well not only did Barbara aka barbweticky throw out the welcome mat, she had the marble cake to go with it. Was such a surprise when out came the cake after the lunch she had ready for us. After lunch off to the Police Station, all 3 us rode around the city for a few hours on duty each with own Cop. Mine was cute Jason, we had 2 traffic incidents, one was chasing a suspected rapists, and a Supermarket robbery...after speeding to the robbery I was about to sit in car n wait, then Jason said hey your coming too...weeeee. We had a fun afternoon getting to know the local law....may come in handy, at least my pic wasn't on the wanted wall...YET!!!! The only injury I've had all trip was a blown left boob by Kerry's cop Matt when he tried to hug me for a pic and rammed my boob into his gun. Barb's cop Walter was a cutie too.

Barb is quite the entertainer and a great cook, she cooked a delicious meal for us last night, even had a bottle of aussie red wine. I was so full I had to do laps of the car park for an hour...lol. Today we boarded the SeaEscape for a day cruise off the coast. The weather was perfect, had a nice buffet luncheon and some yummy drinks, then gambled some in the casino, yeah I won a little at roulette and the slots. We then sat back and relaxed and enjoyed the entertainment onboard and more drinks. Was a nice fun relaxing day. Tomorrow we are heading to the everglades to ride the airboats. So stay tuned for more pics....

We set out this morning to Weston to ride the airboats through the everglades, was a beautiful hot sunny day and everything was clear. We were lucky enough to sight 2 aligators and to witness the male staking his territory. We walked through the animal park where I held a 2 year old gator and a python snake. After leaving there was off to lunch and I finally tried ribs...ooooo yummy !!! Back at Barbs then into the pool to cool off and work off the lunch...lol

It was sad to leave Barb's she was a wonderful host to us both. We set out for the Florida Keys, passing through Miami Beach and Miami along the way. Miami is very much like the Gold Coast in Queensland at home. Tall high rises and neat beaches. We finally made it to the Keys and decided Key Largo was the place we wanted to be. Relaxed some then off to find a nice place to eat, seafood was the go...same as my diet...seefood n eat it !!!!!

Today was a full day. First off to swim the dolphins, was an awesome experience they are such gentle creatures. We were both in awe and really had a blast. We had a few hours to kill so off the Tiki Bar, sipping Pina Coladas and a bite to eat before our next venture. We boarded the Reef Roamer catarman and set sail for the reef. The snorkeling was great and nice to be back in the water. A very relaxing afternoon and enjoyed the sunset on the water.
