Arrived in Phoenix safely, even
Lozzy drove all the way into the
city to the motel weeeeee
Had a lovely dinner at Cathy's
restaurant Taylor's Chowder
House.....food was so nice and so
was Cathy.
21st/22nd April -
Phoenix, Arizona to San Antonio,
Texas - 983 miles

We set out from
Phoenix, took a detour just after
Tucson to Tombstone, rode the stage
coach and spent some time looking
around the town. I always knew they
would throw the welcome mat out,
even named a town after me....lmao....Spent
the night in Las Cruces.

Drove 600 miles to
San Antonio to meet Viv (classylassy).
Viv and hubby Kyle's home right on
the golf course in a Country Club,
is spectacular and their Texas
hospitality is 2nd to none. We
toured around the golf course after
dinner in their golf buggies. I
experienced my 1st sight of deer
roaming the golf course. Today we
are sight seeing in San Antonio.
Viv was a
wonderful tour guide taking us to
lots of attractions in downtown San
Antonio. Lunched in the revolving
restaurant on top of Tower of
Americas, spectacular view of the
city. Took the riverboat ride around
the city centre was very
picturesque, visted the Alamo and
Market Square and had a taste of the
Fiesta activities going on. We then
went to BINGO !!!....was great to
meet Glo, short but sweet...lol just
like Glo.

24th April - San Antonio, Texas to
New Iberia, Louisiana - 433 miles

Set out this
morning for Louisiana, I drove for
1st 5 hrs even manouvered my way
through Houston just fine. We
finally arrived in New Iberia, only
to be met by 2 wonderful people in
Rodney aka cajunsmiles and his wife
Carmen. They took us for a tour
around, then off to dinner...cajun
style of course. I had aligator for
dinner for the 1st time and was
yummy. Kerry tried everything...lol

25th April New Iberia, Louisiana to Mobile,
Alabama - 274 miles

Caj picked us up
for a tour around the countryside,
the old style homes in southern
Louisiana were awesome. We lunched
together then hit the road again for
Alabama. Crossing the Mississippi
River at Baton Rouge was cool. We
arrived in Mobile Alabama met up
with Mark aka moonpieman. Mark is
taking us to the Jazz Festival in
New Orleans for the weekend. We are
both really looking forward to seeing
New Orleans. We have covered 2000
miles in 6 days, pace has been
hectic. Hope to slow down some in
next few days and relax a little. Should have more pics
after the weekend.

We set off New
Orleans Sat morning with Mark as our
chauffeur. He took us via the scenic
route through Mississippi and the
devastation from Katrina was mind
boggling. I took heaps of pics and
just to see where huge casinos and
huge shopping centers were just
merely a concrete slab now. They are
gradually rebuilding but after 2
years there is still plenty of
rubble left along the roadside. New
Orleans really turned on the weather
for us...Kerry had been moaning all
the way across the country she
wanted to see rain...well we got
bloody rain!!!!! It pissed down!!!.
After we were totally soaked just
telling the bell hop what we wanted
out the car at the Hilton, we
changed and headed for the action
!!! We gave up on even attempting to
go the Jazz Festival and decided
Bourbon Street it was gonna be. With
our beers in hand off we set. We
walked and walked in the torrential
rain...all wet as shags but we kept
laughing and enjoying ourselves. We
all had fun with plenty to see and
laugh about. Otherwise we just made
our own fun. After trying a few
dacquiris and shots we headed back
to the Hilton. This morning the sun
did break through for a lil while
and we set out for lunch at the Hard
Rock Cafe, then walked around the
French Quarter and Market. We saw
the ominous black clouds
approaching, so headed back to car
to make trip back to Mobile, again
taking in some more of the scenic
drive along the Gulf. Tomorrow we
are off touring again to the
beach...weeeeeeee...Lozzy is praying
for SUN !!!!!

Yesterday we set off for the coast to Dauphin
Island then took the Mobile Bay ferry across to Gulf Shores. We
lunched then off to the beach, the sand is so white and even the
water was nice. I got my SUN !!! Didnt get in for a swim, was
too full from seafood lunch..lol. It was a nice relaxing day,
and Mark was a wonderful Tour Guide. Today is rest day...weeeeeee.
