30th May - Long Island New York - Hope Valley, Rhode Is -Ferry Ride plus 91 miles

I left and traveled south 1st to check out the beaches before I left New York, stopped and had lunch on the beach to unwind a little from the day before. I then headed to Port Jefferson on Long Island and put my mean green machine and myself on the Ferry across to Bridgeport Connecticut. Then set off towards the coast to see how far I got. I finally found a place to stay in Hope Valley, Rhode Island. Checked into room and then crashed out for 2.5 hrs.. boy did I need it !! Today I'm heading into Mass to visit and Mays and Flash.

I will be zig zagging my way for a bit to catch up with as many as possible as there are quite a few in this area. My route is now planned for the next few days.

31st May - Hope Valley, Rhode Is - Carver/Cape Cod, Massachusetts - 84 miles

Drove through Newport, Rhode Is on the way to Scott aka maysbog's home. Arrived around noon and met may's wife Christy. We set off to Plymouth for lunch, seafood lunch in nice restaurant on the waterfront and a really nice meal and service. Had a look around Plymouth a very picturesque township, saw the Mayflower ship. Oh btw the pic of the Massasoit Indian was for you Barbee, Mays was lifting the loin cloth so you could peek...lmao. Came back to home and chatted away the afternoon, before Scott took me exploring the bush tracks and checking out the wildlife. My 1st experience of seeing bogs where the cranberries grow...so I now know where mays gets his name. We walked through the bush track on his property then out in the open around the lake and even captured the osprey landing on its nest, huge birds with huge nests built on a platform on top of the power poles. It's like the nature came out to greet me, and the area was so tranquil. Next along the track was a snapping turtle, he just sat there waiting to be photographed, but I kept my distance. Was really nice to just walk in the fresh air and enjoy the surroundings. Tomorrow heading off to meet Nate.

1st June - Carver/Cape Cod MA to Danielson, Connecticut - 74 miles

Set off from Mays to head back into Connecticut once again to visit Nate aka NateBramlett, arrived around noon and met Nate's wife Pam and collie Maggie. I love the homes in this area of the country, all set in natural countryside and plenty of trees, birds and nature. We set off sightseeing for the afternoon, first stop was the Submarine Force Museum on the Thames River in Groton. With Nate being an ex marine on the subs, I found it interesting. To actually go through the Nautilus and see the confined conditions those marines endured was an eye opener. We then set off to the Mohegan Sun Casino, we walked around, the interior was amazing all in Indian colors and themes. We had dinner in the buffet and yes yet again I ate way too much...lol. I set up camp in my own home away from home, the RV was so comfortable and I thank Nate and Pam for an enjoyable stay.

2nd June - Danielson, CT to Chicopee, MA  - 74 miles

Needless to say I didn't get to Chicopee...Golfy stood me up....lol he knew I was getting too close so he fled town to avoid me..but but he now knows I will return and by geez he better be in New York to see me off...or he's dead meat !!!! I did set off in his direction however to meet Kim, HA of fairplay league. We had coffee and chatted also lunch, met Kims mom who was visiting from Florida, was a nice visit. The drive through the countryside in New England was very pretty and to drive through early 1800's townships was very interesting. I love the older architecture of the homes and buildings here.

2nd June - Chicopee, MA to Norfolk, MA - 83 miles

Then set out to visit Ronda and her new family. 4 month old twins Teddy and Emily are just the cutiest babies, I really needed my Grandma fix as I miss my boys dearly. After my cuddles with the babies, we dumped them on a neighbor.. lol and set out to see the sights of Boston. After parking in the city, the first place we headed was Fanueil Hall, then off for a beer...naturally Cheers was the place to be !!! We walked around and then headed to the North End to an Italian restaurant from dinner. Of course before leaving the city...yep you guessed it...I just happen to stumble across a Boston Cop !!!!! so dang cute too...and very friendly...lol ... He also told me I was a crazy woman after Ronda told him about my trip. He obviously hasn't met many true Tasmanian Devils...lol. Back home we go to collect the babies.

Ronda has quite the Noah's ark...2 babies...2 dogs Cocoa and Gibson..2 cats.

3rd June - Norfolk - Tewksbury - 54 miles

It was hard to leave Ronda's and her cute babies, I could have quite easily become the new Nanny...lol  I then headed off to meet Carlos....umm well I think everyone still looking for Carlos. I did get to see his driveway...lol.

4th June - Tewksbury, MA to Manchester, New Hampshire - 36 miles

Arrived in Manchester around noonish, was the first day I woke to rain, the drive was easy though as I wasn't traveling too far. After getting 2 new tyres on the car I headed to Brendan's home. Brendan has a really nice family, his wife Martine cooked a really nice dinner. His 3 daughters were so much fun...Nicole, Jacqueline, and Skyler. The girls and I spent most the evening cuddled up on the couch learning all about Australia. It was so cool cause they were actually interested in learning about my country. I did enjoy my time with kids it was fun.... Brendan is also a cool dude and a great Dad. Martine was cool too. Off into Maine today to meet Lordy and Dee.

5th June - Manchester, NH to Augusta, Maine - 150 miles

Arrived at Lordy and Dee's around midday, I think Dee was actually in shock to see Lozzy in the flesh...lol We sat around most the afternoon chatting away, met Dee's son Henry. Dee cooked a nice meal baked ham and veggies, was really yummy. Met Caroline, a really good friend who Lord n Dee are staying with in Maine. We sat around chatting some more after dinner. I was up early and taxied Henry to work, his first day on the new job. Hope is all is going well for ya Henry. Dee finally surfaced when it was time for me to hit the road and she sure isn't a morning person lol as you can tell from the pics. I knew it was time to leave when Dee starting flashing me...omg those 50 E ski slopes was more than I could handle !!!!  lmao

June 6th - Morrill, Maine to Montreal Quebec - 368 miles

This was a full day on the road, I ended up covering 406 miles in 11 hrs. I stopped quite a few times taking in the beautiful countryside of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Was the coolest day so far as I set off in the mid 50's quite a shock after the warm weather. Rained most of the way, but was nice to slow down the pace and take in the country roads instead of the Interstates. My first stop was to Ronda's 2nd home beside the lake in Maine, I just had to get another fix with those babies.

I then set out to visit the small village of Conway in New Hampshire.  Conway was my maiden name and just to stop and walk around and take some pics really meant a lot to me, as I spent that time thinking of  my family and my growing up as a Conway.

Set off again across the White Mountain State Forest, still with the rain coming down, and getting slightly cooler in temp, I started to climb and wind my way amongst some of the most picturesque countryside. Once again I stopped along the way to just walk amongst it all and take more pics.

After leaving New Hampshire and entering into Vermont, I knew next I be in Canada. There wasn't any holdup at the border, but I guess all the flags flying was my welcome to Canada. Oh also I have a stamp now on my passport..lol. I noticed 2 significant changes immediately after crossing the border. The darn radio stations were mostly in FRENCH !!!! lol and also the roads in Quebec suck big time !!!. Trying to read and understand road signs in French was a challenge. I just thank god my GPS lady didn't start talking French too, otherwise I would have been screwed...lmao After 11 hrs I finally arrived at Sebs in Montreal.

If I'm close to you along the way please give me a yell either on msn or send me an email to loraway50@hotmail.com, would love to meet you.
